Bsc. Animal Science With IT

The B.Sc. degree in Animal Science is broad-based, taking foundations in Basic science courses such as anatomy, animal physiology, genetics, organic chemistry and biochemistry, and Agricultural Sciences with professional skills in Animal Production.  This is necessary for the view of the fact that as the country continues to develop, specialist manpower is required in the extension service, public agricultural institutions, private sector, and non-governmental organizations.


Duration of the Programme

The duration of the program shall normally be four (4) academic years Teaching methods in all units shall include lectures, field trips, seminars, tutorials, discussions, and practical.

Degree Structure

The program offers courses within the degree structure spelled out by the Faculty.

  1. Candidates wishing to pursue a B.Sc. degree program in Animal Science with IT must meet the minimum admission requirements of Maseno University. In addition, the candidate should have attained at least C+ in Biology/Biological Sciences or B- in Agriculture; C (plain) in Chemistry/Physical Sciences and C_ in Mathematics or Physics at KCSE.
  2. Applicants who hold a diploma in a relevant animal science field will be given credit transfers in equivalent animal science courses taken and passed (with a minimum grade score of B) at diploma level. Only up to one-third of the total programme course units taken can be transferred.
